Jacqueline Moore, a native Floridian and small business owner, is passionate about helping people and communities reach their potential and thrive. She is a 14-year North Port resident, small business principal, graduate of the North Port Leadership Institute, civility and governance consultant with Gulf Coast Community Foundation, and master certified civility practitioner. She served as president of the National Civility Center and currently serves as business development director with Civility Experts Inc. USA and is a published author. She served as North Port City Commissioner from 2014-2016.
During her time in office she helped focus the process for acquiring an acute care hospital in North Port, and launched an innovative community-building process that engaged scores of citizen participants and colleagues, nonprofit and foundation leaders, and economic development professionals from around the region. She feels she has unfinished business in getting the City focused on thriving; the struggles of working families; the importance of catalyzing youth leadership; and overall civic responsibility and engagement. That feeling, along with her abiding love for North Port, inspired her to run for office this year and engage in deep conversations with her community about the future.
Jacqueline had a 33-year career in telecommunications. She held positions in several operating companies in the US under what is now AT&T, including BellSouth International. Roles included Strategic Planning Manager; General Manager of Wireless Quality and partner liaison with cellular start-ups in Europe and Central and South America; Marketing Transformation Liaison; and Consumer and Small Business Operations. She has led teams and designed, developed and delivered learning processes focused on civility, customer service, sales, personal development, team building and change management. She has a broad background in leadership development, assessments, and coaching. She supports organizations focused on literacy, early childhood development, education, the environment, and access to healthy and abundant sources of nutrition.
Jacqueline holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Metaphysical Science and numerous professional certifications and has accrued significant hours of college level study. She and her husband, Hugh, actively enjoy the Florida lifestyle and engage in projects and community-building activities that bring them a strong sense of purpose and well-being. They enjoy family and friends, music, continuous learning, and enriching activities like tennis, dancing, and sailing.
